Moral Courage (1 Kings 22:1-28)

Main Point: Moral courage is to hold fast to God’s word and stand against the pressure to conform

  1. The story of two kings and their 400 ‘yes’ men
  2. Lessons from three men:
    1. Ahab –  no intention to listen to God’s word
    2. Jehoshaphat – inquired but didn’t hold to God’s word
    3. Micaiah – demonstrated moral courage to hold fast to God’s word and stand against the pressure to conform.

Reflection:

  • Moral courage stems from a deep communion with God. What practical steps can you take to build deep communion with God?
  • In what area (s) in your life do you think God want you to exercise moral courage?
