Main Point: Jesus’ resurrection points towards our resurrection in the body.

Introduction

2. Jesus’ resurrection points towards our resurrection in the body.
   1. Jesus’ resurrection is the “firstfruits” of bodily resurrection (vv20-22).
   2. Death is dead (vv54-55).
3. The characteristics of our resurrected body (vv42-44).
   1. “Imperishable”
   2. “In glory”
   3. “raised in power”
   4. “raised a spiritual body”

Application: Our work for the Lord is not in vain (v58).

– Since the resurrection is true, what’s stopping you from trusting Jesus?
– Do you have a great longing for the future resurrection? Why or why not?
– What would “be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,” look like in your life?
