Towards Christlikeness (Genesis 1:27; Romans 8:29; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 1 John 3:2)

Introduction

1. The Biblical Basis for Christlikeness:
   1.  Genesis 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
   2. Romans 8:29: For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
   3. 2 Corinthians 3:18: And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
   4. 1 John 3:2: Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.

2. Growing towards Christlikeness in our Life:
   1. Becoming Like Christ in our thoughts
   2. Becoming Like Christ in our behaviour
   3. Becoming Like Christ in His mission to the lost

3. Christlikeness is Attainable:
   1. The Work of the Holy Spirit
   2. The Power of God’s Word
