Watch Your Heart With Diligence

James 4:1-10

Key Thought: Everything we do flows from what is in our heart.

  1. Guard your heart against selfish desires (v1-3)

– They cause quarrels and fights.

  1. Keep your heart true to God (v4-6)

– If you allow your heart to rebel and choose to be a friend of the world, then you are making yourself to be an enemy of God.

  1. Surrender your heart to God (v7-10)

– As you submit yourself to the authority of God and live a life of purity, he will lift you up.

Reflection:

  1. Are you envious of someone or coveting something that belongs to another person? Stop. Count your blessings and thank God for what you have.
  1. What is one area in your life that God is asking you to change? Take concrete steps to do so.
